If you ever need Mechanic stuff done bring it by where I work , well the Mechanics section but same company . Anyways our door rate is very good and my boss is honest . . . as far as Im concerned he doesnt charge enough sometimes and lets people take advantage cause hes too nice . Small town atmosphere .They just moved into a nice new building and have all the diagnostic equiptment and the best frame equiptment around too . We NEVER EVER charge people or do work without a full estimate outlining the costs , its only fair to the customers . Really sucks you got ripped off like that . . . . I was charged 90 $ one time at budget brake and mufflet to tigten up an exhaust pipe clamp on my old car that took about 5 min including driving it on the hoist . I knew I was being ripped off but paid anyways and NEVER went back . . . its a sick feeling seing your hard earned money pissed away . It was redamaged again in the same spot and I took it to a local mechanic shop who did the exact same repair for 20 $ cash I went back to that guy .

Pm me if you want the address of the new shop .

that really sucks dude. That's why it's good to learn the art of complaining about bad service.
I had my engine fully rebuilt at a local auto shop. about two weeks later my car stalls at 1am in the middle of a highway. I was sooo mad... tried everything thing wouldn't start. had to tow it to my house etc. such a pain in the ***, thank god I had a Visa on me. The next day I walked in and threw my keys on the table, looked him in the eye and said "ya know what, fix my car properly." I further explained what happened, how I had to pay to get it towed etc. I explained that I belong to a car club that could bring him a lot of business, and if we can work together to remedy the problem then I will continue to give good word about his business. He calls me up the next day and said he will cover the towing charges and what they screwed-up for free. The guy was the nicest person in the world from then-on.

Be careful of shops... they can dink you pretty bad if you aren't willing to stand-up.

But I totally see your point to, you were probably just exhausted at the whole process and wanted your damn control arms, lol.

thank-you for the post... I truly believe running a business is like being a good person. You need to be fair, honest and virtuous with your customers and yourself.

But look my firefly's hood came off on the HWY today, I had to pay $500 to insure my best for 3 MONTH!!!

Reminds me of some shops I have had bad dealings with.

Trax Autocraft in Port Moody

IWE rear-ends only

These two businesses are scam artists, and have no respect for thier customers. The only thing they respect is lining thier pockets.

Shaun, sorry to hear. Best thing would have been to get a quote before you gave it the green light.

He installed new gears in my old 10-bolt last year which blew within days of install. I paid a $1G for them, then he "warrantied" that set which I took my time and was very careful. I broke the 2nd set in for almost 1K km's. And the first time I floored it they blew up again. Now this is very strange to me as my previous set of gears lasted me 4+ years and about 15,000 km's since I have been running my blower putting 400+ rwhp to the ground and many passes at Mission. He then had me sign a waiver that if they blew a second time he would not cover it.

I am a business owner, and I understand where he comes from. Because if he would have kept fixing my car he would lose alot of money. I don't know what type of warranty he did on the set but I don't think it was anything but some shims to quiet it down. He then went on to tell me he would never work on a 4th gen's rear again, and mine was the last one that would see his shop. But the guy was the most absolute rudest a$$hole I have ever dealt with. And will never see another penny of my money until I die for all I care, and he will also never see me talk good about him.
