Angry Another step back...

Well... after a very productive day of getting the new fuel pump in and getting some of the rear suspention done, the #$&^%$ radiator blew!

I think it was from a faulty rad cap. The preasure built up, the cap didn't release it so the water found its own way ou through the fins!

Now I'm done for at least another week until I can get another one.

Good news is the car moves like no tomorrow!!

Sorry to hear that man, happened to my gf's car last Saturday. Thing is that its a 2003 WRX...****ing thing blew 4th day she was driving it. We did tweak the turbo when she got it, but I thought nothing would break for at least a month. Guess not.
Glad to hear your project is coming along though.
Good luck

Hunter

Ken buy a heavy duty high flow rad. You might as well do it now and do it the first time. Im in a position right now with the heat weve had lately the car doesnt seem to like being driven in it. Ive got to get a new heavy duty rad or a better fan cause those are the only things left I have to change. How did the car go at Shanes?

Thanks for the ofer Payam but I gonna get a new rad like Kris said. I'd rather bite the bullet now and get it done properly.

Hey Kris... I'm phoning Mopac today to get one priced out, I'll let you know and maybe we can get two! I'm also looking at gettig one built. What ever is the least expensive. I think quality wise, it will be great eigther route.

Anyone here ever had a rad built?

Sorry to hear about the issues Ken. I know Rybar has a heavy-duty rad...not sure if it was custom made or not...maybe he'll chime in.

If you use the LT1 rad you're hoses will have to be resized & some may not even be used, its a reverse flow radiator but that shouldn't be a problem. Its also got a tranny cooler built in I dunno if the older cars have that, probably not. Its also a slant mount radiator so I dunno about fitment issues.

Mine has a tranny cooler built in but I'm running the T56 now so that doesn't matter!

Mine is also on an angle... not as severe as the LT1's thoguh.

I think its just too much work to get an LT1 rad to work... considering all it does is cool water.

I've already got a price from Mopac... now I just gotta see how much it costs to get one built!

Didn't Shaun overheat the motor like three times a few months ago?
