My car before has the exact same setup, plus a 305cam and some shaved heads, No way it was going to pass, but theres always a way of passing

Re: air care

I've personally found that passing is really dependant on how good the CAT is. And the aircare tests we have is HARD to pass without a good CAT. The aftermarket cheapo cat's don't do too well on our tests

Re: air care

What's a good CAT to get? Cannot pass with a stock tune, really minimal mods and no CAT, will need one sometime soon....

I've never heard of a Trans Am "GT". Is there such thing?

Re: air care

Talking with a mechanic at a GM dealership (wolf GM, the guy did sound very competent about emissions stuff which was refreshing change compared to other mechanics i've talked to) He suggested the stock GM Cat was the best since it has a very high presious metal count compared to other aftermarket ones. He said the downside is that it's stupidly priced.

He also suggested a Walker Converter (#15068). I was quoted 800 and 458.50 Respectivly.

Would be great if someone could attest to a few other brands or confirm that the walker one is good

I passed aircare easily with my 240 000km motor, CC305, AS&M header setup. Got a fast pass on the IM240 test.

We did tune the car, but didnt do anything drastic.

You should pass just fine with the AS&M headers and a decent cat.
