4th Gen Tranny Swap

A quick question...

How difficult & how much money would it cost to swap a manual tranny into a 4th gen z28?

EDIT - The transmission is currently an automatic.

I beleive you can buy a tranny for about a grand from the wreckers and it would take about 6 hours time to re and re. You might want to consider replacing your clutch and pressure plate at the same time, if your current tranny needs replacing! Actually if you're good, you might be able to do it in four hours!

All I've ever read about this swap is that it's sooo much better to just look a bit more and find one with a 6-spd to start with.
That would be the most cost effective way.

There has to be a car out there with everything you want man......don't settle just because you are anxious.
You'll find the one.

Done the swap once fairly straight forward just requires time and all the right parts.. Probably 6 to 8 hours if you have all the pedals crossmembers etc

If you have the parts its easy little bit of wiring and little bit of cutting did the swap a couple of years ago for a freind. Basically all you need is the flexplate tranny m6 crossmember and the pedals. Tools required sawzall hole saw etc. If interested i Can do the swap for you guys just have quite a few jobs on the go at the moment.
