2002 ZL1 from here

ZL1

I didnt know that there was one around here. Does anyone know the person who owns it? It's got to be pretty rare because I think that out of the 69 2002 ZL1's made only 2 made it to Canada and maybe the only Phase lll to come here. Now possibly only one. I wish I was rich.

Oh that is such a dream that I have. I would LOVE to hear that thing up close and personal. 600hp LS1 with a chambered exhaust. Or the cutout. Mmmmmmm.

That is one sweet a$$ ride that I would love to
see, hear & drive. It's nice to be able to dream,
that is wicked.

I think I could handle that as a daily driver.

Nice car, but with 321 miles, it's no wonder no one has seen it.

What a shame. 600hp and no one driving it. Such a waste.

The ONLY flaw in that car's design: Stock 10-bolt with 4.56 gears. hmmmm, wonder how long that will last with 600hp and 550tq? I guess GM expects these cars to get babied and only sit in a garage...

I always wondered that too. Make probably the most badass Camaro ever made and then give it an huge week link like the 10 bolt. It's like giving the Ferarri Enzo only a little 4 banger. Doesnt make sense. You cant explore the full potntial of the vehicle. I wouldnt turn it away though because of it.

sure it has a ten bolt but maybe it doesnt have the stock posi. and as long as your not running slicks, doing 5k dumps, and power shifting it shouldnt be a problem. its shock that kills the ten bolt not the power. and its not like it has 600rwhp.

Larry Christensen's car was featured in GM High Tech in May, It is an '02 ZL1 with the GMMG Phase III package. He has run his at the track many times, it has a 10 bolt with 4:10's, with 16x10.5 Mickey T's. Car has run 11.45@123 with 1.67 60ft. So yeah I think that 10bolt can handle it, I am sure GMMG wouldn't charge as much as they do if they weren't sure they can handle the abuse that some will give them, but I am sure the majority of them collect dust.

So $100,000 got him;
2002 ZL1 Camaro
C5R 427 12:0:1 Compression
GMMG Phase III CNC ported LS6 Heads
Custom Grind Hydraulic Roller
1 7/8 TTS Long Tubes with QTP electric cutout and GMMG chambered exhaust
Stock T56 w/ SPEC Flywheel and stock clutch
10 bolt with 4:10's
Z06 Rims
6 Point Cage

which is all good for mid 11's on slicks.....but $100,000 I guess if you got it, enjoy it.....

Sweet @ss ride but for that amount of cash I'd be looking at something else. I believe the seller is trying to make a nice tidy profit for his trouble.

I managed to get my car to hook in 2nd for most of the RPM up to 5500rpm & my 10 bolt is nice & quiet, takes the abuse no problems, I went over this with you Andy, if you build a 10 bolt right it will last, if you blew a rear end, I wouldn't bother rebuilding it because the housing bearing bores are out of round & will keep blowing up anything you put in, also if the gears aren't set right you'll blow those things all day long. I'll go to Mission when you go, we'll see
