Just got my car like two weeks ago and someone decided to hit me right on the passenger side. I fell in love with my car but I’m worried it might be totaled. What do you guys think?
I'm no pro, but I vote yes based on the way that wheel is bent in...it may be close and if you're given a choice to have it totaled or not, then if it were me, I'd choose to have it totaled. I believe the threshold for totaling a car is if it will cost more than 51%-80% of it's value to have it repaired...it varies by insurance companies...
Not to mention that insurance will normally total when the estimated repair cost is 75% of the value of the car. This looks like a '19 or '20 base v6.
If this is a '20 with 5k or less miles, rough bluebook is 21k, which would lean towards them opting to fix it. That said, from personal experience, fixing this kind of repair is really not recommended because it looks like the unibody has been tweaked. That doesn't mean it can't be fixed, but it won't ever be perfect. That comes in the form of body noises when driving, slight fitment issues, etc.
If this was a special limited edition model, or had a ton of work into it, etc. it might be a different story. I promise you'll be able to find another silver v6 with similar options
