Upgrading my Camara
Upgrading my Camara
Hey guys! I'm new to this whole car thing. I've been interested in car for a while, but I never really got into learning to mod/upgrade them. Now I want to upgrade mine. I have a 2013 Camaro LT 2-door coupe. It's 6-speed automatic. I have 18 months to 2 years left on payments. However, I would like to add/upgrade some things to make some better performance. I joined so I can learn some new things!
Re: Upgrading my Camara
Welcome to CamaroZ28.com !
"Camara" or Camaro?
I'll be up front, totally honest with you. I am not aware of any regulars here who have anything newer than the 1993-2000 4th Gen Camaros. This site is relatively dead. Not likely to get help with a 5th Gen or 6th Gen.
Wish it was more active, but it was never updated to attract 5th and 6h Gen members. I'm embarrassed to tell you this.

Re: Upgrading my Camara
Welcome! Yes, I'm one of those with a 4th Gen. Camaro...BUT, if your '13 is the 3.6 V6, I've got the same motor (LFX) in my 2015 Equinox and I've also modded it for slightly better performance.
An engine is basically a giant air pump, Get more air in, get more out, and performance will increase. That being said, the fist place to start is a cat-back exhaust. Then go with a Cold Air Intake (CAI), and then you can look into an aftermarket tune (I used an IPF tune in my LFX). Yes, I did all 3 on the LFX in my Equinox. I went with a K&N cold air intake, a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust, and like I said, an IPF tune. If you're not a V6, then the same principles apply, except I'd save the tune for later if it's a V8 because there's more aftermarket performance parts for the V8 than the V6...
