Soon to join the club

Well, I never thought I would be saying this, but I am buying my first Camaro z28 this week. I was casually looking for a car and found a '94 z28 with only 58000 miles. Went to look at the car last night and it was love at first sight. The car is clean and ready to roll. I am looking forward to driving her home.

I will. I think I will be picking it up Tomorrow or Thursday. Unfortunately, the weather here has gotten cooler again, so I will need to wait a couple of weeks to take the top off.

UGH... The title is taking a little too long to get here and now my wife is having second thoughts. She is worried about the snow and the back seat if I would need to take my kids somewhere. (10, 7, 4) She doesn't get that I only drive about 5 mins to get a bus to work and usually if we are taking the kids, we take he van.

I think she talked to some friends and they told her how bad Camaros are in the snow. I used to work with a guy who owned one and he never missed work when there was snow on the ground.

I guess there might be a fight if I decide to come home with the car in a few days. I am hard pressed to find another car in this good of shape with 58K miles for $4000.

If you'll be driving it in the winter, just make sure you get a good set of snow tires. That and some caution and you'll be fine.

Your kids will fit fine in the back seat. Heck, I'm 29 and I fit fine back there (5'8", 145 lbs). For short drives, even relatively tall people will be fine.

Other than that, just make sure to enjoy it! Your wife will change her tune once she gets behind the wheel -- these cars are a BLAST to drive!
