Possible new member, quick advice?

I know it's rude to come onto a forum starting off with a question so let me just say HELLO!

I'm not new to forums at all, and if I have a question I'd normally utilize the Search Function however I need some quick advice and if I should/shouldn't trade kind of thing.

I'm looking at a 1995 Camaro Z28 LT1.

Guy wants to trade it for my 2003 PT Cruiser GT (it's family-friendly).

He states it's modded, but I'm not sure by how much. I don't care about gas mileage since this Z28 will be my toy. It has 140k miles and is an Automatic (yea ew but it'll be city-friendly).

My PT has Stage 1-level mods, and runs 13's all day still on its stock turbo. With slight mods, it can become an 11-second car easily..not sure how much it'll cost me or how much time to do that with the Z28 on a limited budget.

Anyway, I'm considering a trade but before I go through with it what are Z28-specific things I should look out for? Should I ask about certain things replaced?

Appreciate any help you guys/gals have to offer and hope to become a new Z28 owner! I miss Chevy, and my last one was a Corvette with the L83.

Welcome to the board. You should probably post your questions in the more technical forums for better response.

Welcome to the board. The biggest problem with the lt1s is the optispark.

Re: Possible new member, quick advice?

Thanks for the welcome, and yeah I should've posted this elsewhere.

I took some time to read a few things and yeah the optispark was covered. However, the '95 has a vented optispark so it's not as bad as the '94 though I might replace it anyway if I do get the car.

Also read about these things overheating.

Since it's an automatic, I'll want to check what gears it has IE put key in ON position and move shifter all the way back.

I read that there are quite a few 'free mods' which is a good thing.

Btw, I'm going to be looking at the car soon so I'll post up updates later but I was informed that it has a 'newer' LT1. I'll have to talk to the individual to find out why it was swapped but we'll see.
