Smile new member in missouri!

New to the site, and to this generation of f body but not to hotrods. My name is Andy, I'm 24 and I have had a 90 S-10 with a 350 outta a 79 camaro, a 79 datsun 280z with a sbc 383(deathtrap), and a 1990 iroc that was perfect and I wish I still had it but I really wanted the m6 option. I just got my 1997 trans am, m6, 90k. For $4500 and I Love it, its a really strong car doesn't seem to have anything that isn't perfect. It was a one owner car, its stock as stock gets and I don't plan on doing anything other than bolt ons bc I pretty much daily drive it. . . . . . I plan on doing CAI, LT's, some sort of cat back, 1.6rr's, and a tune threw pcm4less or madtuner. So any advice on aftermarket for this stuff I'm all ears. . . . . . I wanna throw about 1500-2gs at it in the next month or so and get as fast as possible, most of the racing I do is from a roll newayz so ill prob stay away from crazy suspention stuff for now, Thanx for having me dueces!

Welcome!!

Sounds like you've got a good plan for upgrading the LT1. There's a lot of help here, on the LT1 Based Engine Tech forum. And take a look at the specialized tech forums, like Fuel & Ignition, ,Wheels & Tires, Drivetrain, etc.

Enjoy!!

That's a pretty good plan for starters. Throw a set of headers into the mix -- longtubes if your local emissions laws allow it.

Be careful racing on the street. The last thing any of us wants to see is you getting caught and getting your car impounded.

A set of shocks, springs, and subframe connectors are a must for every 4th gen F-body. They will smooth out the ride, improve the handling, and stiffen up the chassis, all of which go together to make it a much more pleasant car to drive.
