Hello everyone my name is Eddie and I am (or already have) buying 1996 Chevrolet Camaro V6 T-Top edition as a project car to complete with my son. The car runs and drives fine plan on doing a LS and transmission swap. I previous owned a 2015 Ford Mustang (I know I know) decided to switch it up after a few minor problems with my mustang. I do not know much about the 1993-2002 besides the LS1 motor so I'm really here to learn as much as possible.

Welcome to CamaroZ28.com ! ! ! Great to see a father/son project.

We're here to help. Unfortunately, this site isn't as active as it once was. Good news is the 4th Gen seems to be well covered. You will need to be patient. Sometimes takes a while for help to show up.

Welcome! My 1st Camaro was actually a '96 V6 w/5spd I bought new right out of college. Loved that car and put 76K miles on it in about 2 1/2 years before I sold it to buy my '98 Z28 new. Unfortunately, the general consensus on 4th Gen Camaro's is that it's cheaper in the long run to just buy an LS1 equipped vehicle instead of trying to swap out a V6 model. There's just soooo much that has to be done to make the swap work, it's just easier to buy an LS1 equipped 4th Gen to start with and fix it up. The 3.8 is a nice 200 HP motor to start with and can still be fun IMO...
