hey guys im 44 years old having a mid life crisis, every thing I know about Camaros is old school, 1970's stuff, I just got a 1993 Z28, kinda cuts out sometimes while starting but will start every time, guy I got it from said has timming issue, also said has a lt1 motor.


Any idea where I would start? I kinda know little, like distributor is under water pump. like I said it does run but I had it towed home, tow truck driver said it was a timming issue too, but when he dropped it off he added, if its not the original motor I would need to replace the PCM, I need to match the PCM to motor??

The 93 ecm is kind of unique and is very scarce. Does it have 4 square connectors (not rectangular)? Don't get rid of it until you know it's value.

See if there are any trouble codes by flashing the SES lamp. You can download the 93 Firebird (very similar to Camaro) full service manual here:

thanks for reply, I just got car today, and haven't even looked at anything, when you say kind of unipue and very scarce does that mean its going to cost an arm and a leg to fix?
