I Guess I Should Say Hi!

I'm not exactly new because I've been posting on here for a week or two but I never officially introduced myself sooooo here it goes!

I'm a senior in high school who was looking for his first car on craigslist starting in september. I was basically looking for anything that had low miles and worked, I didn't really care what it was. But one day in october I saw a 92 camaro and said hey what the hell. I went to check it out and loved it but it was a "tired" car and i decided against getting it. The next day I typed in camaro and found a 94 camaro and it looked beautiful. I called the guy and found out it was stick, which was depressing because I couldn't drive stick.

I went out to see it and fell in love. 1994 Camaro, 5 speed, t-tops, only 115,000 miles. So I bought it for $2195 though i couldn't even drive it home. I learned stick in a day or two and i absolutely love it. Since I bought the car I wanted an exhaust and last week I finally got one, a Magnaflow, even though I didn't really have money to spare.

So yeah...theres pictures up in my album. The summer looking ones are the ones that he posted and made me fall in love.

Future items I want: Black wheels, tinted windows, fix my center console since i got it with the back hinges snapped off, CAI, tail light/bumper light covers, and possibly getting black stripes that run from the front of the car to the back, oh and HID headlights.

I tried to trade mine for a Z28 about a month ago but realized that i wouldn't be able to afford gas/insurance.

Nice!

Awesome car! Or at least for now, it is. As soon as stuff starts breaking on your car, you will start to realize how much of a beast it is - on gas, on insurance, on maintenence, on repairs, etc etc... and you will probably want something more practical.

Hey Longwell and I would say welcome but I am brand new myself. Love the 1994 Camaro. It reminds me of why I fell in love with my 1993. And not to start an argument here or anything (which I really hope this does not do) but I disagree with Rob as well. I think with the V6 you are doing great with economy. I got 21 mpg highway and 18 in town with my Z28 350 V8 so you will definately get at least that in your V6. As far as reliablility my 93 had 125k miles on it and ran like a champ when I decided to do a project with it. The only complaint I could have before I pulled the engine was it was starting to get a slight leak from the front main seal and since a certain someone who shall remain nameless bottomed it out going too fast across a bad intersection it got a slight exhaust leak from a broken bolt on the rear of the drivers side exhaust manifold. (the driver was not me though) My advice is good maintinence, a good oil (I suggest castrol, I used synthetic but normal is fine too) premium filters not cheapest you can find and run good gas through it. Good luck and enjoy your Camaro, that's what they are for.

Having said what I just said, I can see Robs point as he was no so much bashing your Camaro but you did state you were a senior in high school and didn't have much spare money and there are some cars that are cheaper to run and insure than a sports car. But I would have killed to have a Camaro when I was in High School instead of a little green 1974 honda civic cvcc lol. Since you have been able to land one take care of it and it will take care of you for a long time to come.
