Hi from Mpls/St. Paul area

I'm not new new, I've been on here for a little while now. I just thought I'd say hello. I joined here because I'll soon have to start working on the wifes Solar Gold 78 TA. It's not in terrible shape, but it needs work. We picked it up 3 years ago from the far side of Montana from an ad in Hemmings. I don't have any pics of it now. I also joined needing parts from a 3.4 V6 Fbody for my own car I rescued from the junkyard last summer. It's an 81 Olds Sport Omega. You can laugh if you want, but it carries its own unique piece of GM history as the first GM vehicle to use plastic body panels. The front fenders and rear wheel flares are plastic"flex" fenders as they called them in the dealer brochure. They only made 696 of these cars. I can't post attachments so here's a link to cardomain. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3341573. If anyone has ever seen one of these Omegas, please tell me about it. Where, how long ago, was it being driven or in a junkyard? I've been searching since last year for any other survivors and so far Mine is the only one I know still exists. Somebody from Pincher Creek, Alberta Canada said he had one years ago, and another guy said he rolled one when he was younger. That's it so far.

YO. Have I seen your Omega on www.tcstangs.com before? I swear it looks very familiar. Anyways welcome to the site. You've come to one of the best sites for knowledge and parts. I've been a member of several other national GM performance sites and my membership really doesn't get used a lot with them b/c i've found that the group of guys on here are some of the most knowledgeable and helpful guys out there. You should be able to find what you need for your 3.4 on here no problem. There are always a handful are cars being parted out at anyone time.

Yeah that's me. Believe me, I've been on many Oldsmobile sites too and nobody still has one anymore. I'm hoping to get it in shape for Car Craft this summer.

I've seen one of those before! It's a regular at the Sloan Summer Auto Fair in Flint, MI.

IMO, that's the best car show there is.

Thanks JakeRobb, I have sent an email to the chairperson of the Sloan car show so hopefully whoever it is that has the Omega is a registered participant and I am able to get a hold of him. Through all my searching that would make he and I the only 2 people I know that has one of these cars still in existence. I will also place a wanted ad in the area craigslist and see if I get a response.
