Finally getting a Z28
Finally getting a Z28
I am getting a '92 Z/28 tomorrow. it has the usual problems, leaking T-top and flaky 700r4, scuffed front spoiler and cracked dash. Paid $700 so I am very happy if I can just sit in the driveway and gun the engine.
I bought my first Camaro in 1975, a '68 with a 'vette 327 fuely and powerglide with locking converter. I bought it for $700 and sold it 3 years later (and 3 accidents) for same as I bought it. I missed that Camaro so much that I bought a new Z/28 in 1978. After installing a holley carb I could get consistent 15 sec 1/4 mile times. I installed an MM nitrous system and could beat anything in my neighborhood including a Chevelle 396 with a six pack on it. Sadly, that Z died when I lost it on a turn at 90 MPH and climbed a tree sideways with it. This '92 Z is the first muscle car I've had since that crash in 1981. I am just so happy to have a Z/28 again.
