Smile 1983 Z28 - New owner help

Am a new owner and would like to bring the car back up to snuff.
Am not sure where to locate correct shocks as well as WHO in the Northwest Burbs of Chicago provides quality service. Besides replacing the battery, wipers and shocks, I want to put some car shows under my belt. The car is the crossfire injection, automatic with 24,000 miles.

Welcome to CamaroZ28.com ! ! !

I'll be very honest with you. Not a lot of 3rd Gen owners here any more. You might get lucky if one of them checks in. Seems like the only people that come here regularly are the 4th Gen LT1 owners.

That the car was a commodity, not a rarity.
Non the less, I'll go to the local Chevy dealers and look for the oldest looking mechanic!
Thanks for chiming in.
