I think it all depends on the application, on a N/A car the exhaust won't mean much, but on a turbo or supercharged car the exhaust is important.

I did a dyno run on a stock 03 Cobra it made 370rwhp, out it on the lift and out in a bassani xpipe and cat back put it back on the dyno and it made 403rwhp.

The superchared and turbo car needs the exhaust opened and they will make more power with little back pressure.

We had a turbo Mustang on the dyno and it was making crazy boost mid 20's and it was down a bit on power, he unbolted the exhaust and it picked up alot of rwhp(can't remember), what was happening was the backpressure was pushing back on the turbo
once the exhaust was freed up it made the boost go up to high 20's.

I am aware of all of that w/ the turbos and superchargers and stuff w/ backpressure and yadda yadda yadda, but thats not what im worried about here. i know that i dont have boost and that i dont have enough HP to need a really really free-flowing exhaust, the reason i want true duals is because 1.) theyre badass and 2.) they sound awesome.

So, Jayman, if you could...you think you could get me an estimate of how much it would cost and how much your set-up is costing you and what you're using in that set-up.

Thanks,
Jake

He's looking for something that will (if I understand correctly).

A) help pass emissions

B) sound good

SLP Loudmouth does neither

thanks 1st and goal, i wasn't asking about cat-backs. i have searched through all of them and i still think the best sounding are hooker or blowmaster. BUT, im pretty much set that i am going to get LT's. Jet Hot has a GP going on right now until 7/3 i believe and i can get the LT's shipped to my door, emissions equipped for $513 i believe. so i figured since i was going to run LTs and true duals sound sweet, that i should check on here and see what people think and see where i could take it to, to get these done. after all, the Y-pipe and cat-back that ill need w/ the headers will probably run me just as much, maybe more than if i had an exhaust shop do custom 3" true duals w/ 2 cats, Dr. Gas X-pipe, and 2 bullets or some muffler of the sort. are there any good shops around here to take it to that will do a good job for a decent price?

Thanks for all the help and opinions so far,
Jake

Here is the only over the axle dual exhaust I have ever heard of on a 4th ger. I believe Denny McClain was the owner and these pics were taken years ago:

wish i had an idea how much it was going to cost myself

it probably won't be going on for at least another week cause i can't drive my car until my new panhard bar shows up and Spohn is waiting for them to get back from being powdercoated

i did get an email today when i got home from work that my headers had been shipped
