There was a swap meet today at the Big E in Springfield...

and it totally sucked. It would have been great if I collected die-cast cars or chinese tools...

My EXACT thoughts! I went for the first and last time. What a waste of time and gas.

Yeah, it had been nearly 10 years since the last time I went to a swap meet, so I figured I'd check it out. Incredibly lame. I pretty much went through the entire thing in 30 minutes. I was tempted to tell all the people lined up outside to save their $7. It'd be better spent at Starbucks!

I was looking for ANYTHING for my '64 SS, while my buddy was looking for trim for his '66 Satellite. Absolutely nothing.

My theory is it's the Ebay effect. People are finding that it's much easier to just sit at a computer and reach 10's of thousands of interested people than it is to load up all their junk, set up the tables, unload the junk, sit around for 3 days, load up the junk that didn't sell, then go home and unload the junk.

I'm sure you're right. Having said that...how can they call it a swap meet if there is actually no parts there!!!
