NED weekend test & tune sessions

I've been interested in going to the track lately and have a couple of friends that I'd like to go with. Problem is that NED is 1.5 hrs away from us so Wed & Fri street nights are a hard sell. I was wondering how it would be to go to a test & tune session on Sat or Sun. I see there are other events listed on the same day as t & t - like 4 or 5 - and was curious as what to expect. Would it be us and a bunch of hard core race cars? How crowded would it be?

Thanks,
Joe

mapquest says it's 1:20 from clinton to epping. Same distance as from Newton..... Anyway the point is that going after work is going to be tough so I'd rather go on the weekend.....

actually if you can do it, wednsday night is the best night to go. because during the day they rent the track out and actually spray down vht and stuff for the guys who rent it. so its still semi prepped that night. fridays is ususally when everyone goes up and its a mess. you can easily go to a test and tune they will let any thing run. hell there was an 87 eldorado running high 17s one day when i was there. they also will prep the track if there is an event going on for points and stuff.

Re: NED weekend test & tune sessions

I work in Clinton and it took me 2 hours to get there on a Friday night leaving at 4! Traffic is terrible on 495 to get up there. I'd guess it would be a lot better on a Wednesday though. With good traffic it'd be around 1 hour I bet. I agree on the Friday night and bad prep. Avoid it. W/E T&T is a good trip. Plenty of delay in between runs with all the classes but it's worth going.
