Anyone going? im planning on going im not entering the spectator drag or anything cause my car probably wont be completed by then and even if it was the engine break in time wouldnt be done.....pretty sweet time i went last year......sweet cars, sweet crashes and awesome fireworks.

 

I wanted to go but I have to go to a wedding who gets married on the 4th of july grrrrr

 

I usually go every year but will be taking my boat to Newport to watch the fireworks instead. The QEII was supposed to be going to New York city but there is something going on in that harbor so they are redirecting to Newport and giving the city and additional $20k to put towards their fireworks display. I guess they want it to be good

I might race there on 8/8.

its an oval and they race around it lol it makes a BIG difference actually turning then just going in a straight line.

 

Um... see what I wrote above Today is a boat day.

I used to race there in the early to mid '90s and won the whole thing on the 4th of July in '92. Exchanged some paint with a Cougar with my LT1 Camaro in 1993 or '94.

btw- I was wrong about the ship. It's the new Queen Mary not the QEII.
