emissions and relocated CATS

Anyone have problems getting an inspection sticker with relocated CATS? I'm not talking about actual emissions levels, but the visual part of the inspection. Do they look to make sure the cats are in the factory locations?

I didn't have a problem with my longtubes. They did notice them though.
There is a good gas station right off exit 16 on rt24 (mobile)that has been pretty flexible with me.

Also, if you have over 50K miles, you shouldn't have a problem.

>I don't think that has anything to do with relocating the catalytic converter . I think that applies to getting a new (high flow) cat.
The cat. converter has to remain in the stock location to stay emissions legal (visual) . That's the reason that long tubes (headers) are not C.A.R.B. compliant , and we (Massachusetts) go by basiscally the same standards (we suck !) .

I'm not so worried about the actual emissions coming out the tailpipe, since it's a 96 and they won't be doing the sniffer test next year. What I'm worried about is the Turbo Tech kit I'm putting on. It means one cat is going bye bye(unless I Y the exhaust from the turbo into two cats, and then back again into one.) I may end up doing this, just so I can say all the emissions equip is there including the after cat O2s.

Hey Jake,
I have some used MAC 1-5/8 shorties and dual cat Y for sale. I'm looking for $160. They are painted, not coated. You could gut the cats. Let me know.
