cam/gears installation

I bought my 93z about a year ago and have been adding bolt ons ever since. Now I wanna put in a cam and some gears. I would pay the local shop to do it but I wanna learn how to work on the car myself and see how it is done. If anyone is interested in showing me how and has the experience on lt1's (i dont wanna screw up the car but ask that you know what you are doing) then I will pay you to show me.

Where are you located and how much money are you talking about? I may know some people that have done the kind of work you are looking to do that may be willing to lend a hand. They may even help you do it for free, not sure though. Post some more info and I'll do my best to help.

Thanks for responding. I live in Hartford CT, and go to school in south jersey so I can take the car anywhere in between it doesnt matter. I was thinking of putting in a hotcam kit, and while doing so putting in a new meziere water pump, distributor, and certain valvetrain components it may need (lifters, pushrods etc). I was also going to put in 373 gears, and tomorrow it is getting new shocks/struts. I have heard and talked to GM dealerships around my state and they say about 10-12 hours to install the hotcam kit. I could pay you or your friends 500 bucks to do it(the hotcam kit, not the other things I mentioned). I just wanna learn how to work on my car is all, or in reality be a part of it. I hate having stuff done and just picking it up. So far the car has a cai, 1le elbow, tb bypass, ported intake, march pulleys, jba headers, msd wires, ngk, orp, and flowmaster. Now its time for more. Let me know. If they dont have experience with stuff like cams then maybe the other bolt ons? thanks...
