Border Patrol in VT?
Border Patrol in VT?
I went up to VT yesterday and on my back down south on I91 between exit 10 & 9 (mid-state), there was a Border Patrol checkpoint slowing cars to a halt, both southbound lanes. I was going thru at 5:00p.m., so at that time they were picking up all of there signs, cones and such, but when I had made the trip earlier this year to VT they were doing the same thing? They stopped me, and asked how I was doing. They had several patrol SUVs, an operations box truck, and a water truck, there were at least 8 officers. Any idea what they are looking for? Seems awfully far south to be setting up a roadblock. Do they do this in others locations throughout VT, or perhaps ME or NY?
Re: Border Patrol in VT?
Thats strange, perhaps there was some terrorist activity. I'm pretty sure they dont do that here in MA. I drove to Canada 2 weeks ago and I was only stopped at the Canadian border by customs.

Re: Border Patrol in VT?
I've heard about this too. My father goes up to vermont on a regular basis and he says the roadblock has been going on for the last 3-4 months. I guess the mentality is that there are only a few ways down from canada, so instead of trying to catch people right @ the border, they set up further south because everyone has to come down the same way. I guess it's easier than trying to patrol the whle border.
