Anyone wanna help me Log Data?

My laptop is giving me problems and I would like to know if anyone with datamaster or autotap or whatever can help me log data.

Tell me what's wrong with the laptop and I will walk you thru fixing it since most people in New England are too busy to help anyone but themselves

Its a hardware and software issue Gary. I have the cable that went to the serial port. My dad got rid of his old laptop and got a new one without a serial port! So I got a serial to usb adapter. When I used the datamaster software, it wouldnt let me select the usb port. It only let me choose COM 3, which isnt anything I can use. I would like to see if someone has a laptop all set up with the software and is willing to log for me while I drive.

So the datamaster has no way of determining the usb? Try an emulator that makes usb think it is serial or assign the usb an irq and use that with the softwares program .

I'll bring my laptop/cable/software to the Oct.18th dyno day. If you haven't gotten it done by then, I'll be happy to help you.

Can anyone get together this weekend with me for about 30 minutes for some data logging?
