Hey guys,

The weather isn't looking too good for Friday, accuweather is calling for a 75% chance of rain at 9am. I just spoke with the track and we are going to see what the forecast looks like tomorrow afternoon. If there is still a high chance of rain we will cancel the event. Either way I will send out an email tomorrow afternoon around 4pm so you know what's going on. I'll also update the forum threads with info tomorrow.

If you want to follow along with the weather we have been watching here. http://wwwa.accuweather.com/forecast...day=3&metric=0

If you have any questions please email me at miketta89@hotmail.com

Thanks!

Re: American Drag Day VII - Lebanon Valley, NY (LVD) - October 7th, 2005

Hey Guys,

This is a tough call and I'm sure everyone has been looking at a bunch of weather sites trying to figure out what's going to happen. Some say its going to rain at 10am while others say it will hold off until 4 or 5pm. The only clear thing I see is that it will rain Tomorrow but nobody knows exactly when and for how long. It does appear like the forecast is getting better but its too close to call.

I spoke to LVD about 20 min ago and they are not sure what's going to happen either. Locally they say its supposed to rain early in the morning and clear up for a awhile and then start raining again in the afternoon. This means they have to dry and prep the track after it stops raining, so the 10am start time could be delayed.

I don't want to tell 60 people coming from all over New England to make this trip only to be rained out and angry with me. I'm coming 150 miles one way and I know there are people coming further than that.

So the SVT American Drag Day Event is Cancelled. There is no rain date, I will be refunding all paypal payments over the next few days. We will be setting up a Spring 2006 event and I will notify you when that's happening.

Now some good news for those that want to brave the weather. If the weather does hold out and the track has enough people it will open for the day. This gives you guys some more time to watch the weather and make the call yourself.

The SVTOA event is cancelled, what you do from here on out is up to you. I was told if it doesn't rain the track will probably open. I was told they would cut a little break on the price due to the impending rain. It will cost you $70 at the track to run, the phone number for the track is (518) 794-7130 and (518)-794-9606. I would call to make arrangements and get details about what they are doing or planning. Please understand this is info I was told over the phone and that can change, please call for your own details. Officially I'm telling you we are rained out but check the weather over the next few hours and decide what to do.

If you have any questions please email me at miketta89@hotmail.com

Thanks!
