how can you tell the difference between a 350 tpi and a 305 tpi? I dont no because the car i just bought has been changeds alot so i dont no what my car is whether its an IROC or a Z28. if someone knows it ould be a big help

 

There should be a casting on the back of the block on the drivers side use a small mirror it should say 5.0 or 5.7.

 

will that show on all blocks because it looks like my engine has been replaced because the block is orange instead of black?

 

Not sure but I know it shows on all 3rdgen motors from factory so I guess it can't hurt??

 

i believe the 8th letter in the vin. f=lb9 (305), can't remember what the 350 letter is

 

The 350 I believe is a g but if it isn't the original motor then who knows.

 

if it was a factory 5.7 then on the badges on the gfx would say z28 with 5.7 tpi under neath it. If it is an auto then it is a 5.7 there was no 350 with a manual option in the thirdgens. Just ask for reciepts...if he cant prove he did a 350 motor swap then dont believe him and assuem its a 305
