ZEX 75 shot on lt1

I have the opportunity to buy a barely used zex fogger system with everything for $200. It is a 75 shot. My car has 80,000 miles. Im the second owner, first owner was a middle aged woman. Car is in excellent shape. i have some questions...
A. Is this a good deal?
B. Will my motor hold up on an occasional 75 shot?

and what are your opinions on this sytem? Thanks guys

A stock LT1 can hold a 125HP shot, 75 shot will be fine. 200 dollars for a used 75 shot *unless you can go up more, you're just using 75HP* seems a little pricey, nitrous isn't my specialty

Re: ZEX 75 shot on lt1

I got a zex wet to install in my 96 z28 or 99 ta depending but from everything I have read up to 125 shot is no problem and possibly 150 either.
Of course you should go to colder plugs and mabye upgrade fuel pump, intank or inline and mabye injectors if that is a dry system.Zex makes dry and wet.

Any performance mod carries some risk but a 75 shot is really nothing on a most v8 cars. It would be nice if we had forged pistons and I would install some for sure if you ever have the engine out.

I don't have my system running just yet was waiting of a custom switch panel for the 96z.I also bought other stuff ,blow down tube, bottle gauge, bottle warmer and purge kit. Will get bottle opener later.I bought an msd digital window switch as well. They are good idea so you don't spray thru the shifts on auto or spray nitrous into the rev limiter.

I say go for it.!!

As long as everything is there this is a good deal.More HP is just a jet change away.Thast a good way to get started. When you get ready for more you will have no problem getting your money back out of it.

Re: ZEX 75 shot on lt1

I bought a use ZEX dry kit from a board member and then ordered the 100 and 125 HP jets from a local shop. It works great for me since I don't have a bottle heater. I just turn it on and if the pressure is a little low or a little high it adjusts the fuel enrichment to compensate. I know there are much better kits out there, but for ~$300 I can't complain. I have the 125 HP jets in it now on the stock fuel system and it seems to work perfectly fine. I'm running TR6's and five degrees of retard just to err on the safe side. Pick it up, it's a steal.
