Wiring

Out of curiosity, what's everybody's favorite methods of getting wires from the engine bay to the passenger cabin for things such as arming switches. Also with the bottle somewhere in the passenger cabin or in the trunk, getting the supplly line into the passenger cabin. I'm just curious about what different methods people have used. Personally, I drill a hole in the side by my feet under the interior panel and then route things through the fender over the wheel well.

Re: Wiring

Your doing it the hard way. Drop the passanger kick panel under the dash. Open your hood, go to the far left corner and there are two bolts that hold the ECM in, take those out and pull the ECM up a and out a little (leave pluged in) and you will see the rubber gromett where you should run wires and nitrous line through.

Re: Wiring

That's nice to know. My 85 Camaro already had a hole through the side by my feet.

Re: Wiring

Yeah, that would be the dead 85. I have a 99 SS now...with no holes in it.

Were you able to actually run the nitrous line through the sealed grommet? I was able to run a couple of small wires through there, but I don't think I could of run a nitrous line without tearing it.

Then you'll have a puddle of water sitting on the passenger floor if the car gets stuck in a downpour.

Yes sir. There is plenty of room. Leave the grommet in so the Nitrous line doesn't rub against the metal and wear the stainless line. It's been done many times, and works out very very well.

Actually that hole is tucked way back in there, not much water would ever get up there that's the why they tuck the ECM up there. The main reason is so the line doesn't get worn or cut from rubbing.
