Why wont my nitrous work!!!

I bought the Zex LS1 kit model number 82026. I have a LT1. I am trying to have the Zex box register full throttle from my TPS sensor.

I am following the directions and found the correct wire to splice and it is still not working. It registers full throttle but after I program it in, the nitrous and fuel just blows when it is armed without flooring it. Is there a reason that this is happening or is it because I am using the LS1 kit on my LT1.

I wouldnt think so because they TPS sensors are basically the same so the kit should be the same.

Thanks,

Tim

Save yourself the headache and just wire up a regular WOT micro switch. Its not owrth the headache, or the risks, to do it like that. What if it somehow turns on at low RPMS ? That could be ugly.

Could you give me a bit more info on that. I dont know much about wiring. If you could point me to a website or walk me through that I would be much appreciated.

I am going to buy a MSD Window switch eventually but until then I just want my nitrous to activate when I throttle it. Right now it wont even activate and I tested the TPS wire and sensor and it wont work.

From what I understand I cant that cant be done though because mine runs off the TPS voltage.

Re: Why wont my nitrous work!!!

Im jus ttaking a guess here then, but, maybe the LS1 TPS is calibrated differently than an LT1 TPS. So at idle, the LT1 TPS is still sending the "correct" signal for the LS1 kit. Like say the LT1 WOT value is 6V, and the LS1 TPS operates from 6V up, then it would kick on too early. Call a GM dealer and find out what range an LS1 TPS should read at both idle, and WOT, and what the LT1 TPS should read at both idle and WOT. If they arent the same, that very well could be your problem.

Even with the MSD module, you still need to tell the kit when the throttle is on the floor. Just contact any nitrous parts supplier and ask for a wide open throttle (WOT) switch w/ mounting bracket. You install it on your throttle body were the cable and arm are and when it is depressed, it completes that wiring circuit which is usually the ground path of the nitrous fire circuit.

ok. The guy at Zex said that once I press the button to teach it WOT. I have to keep it "not throttled" for 10 second and then go WOT with it to teach it.

What do you all think.

Did you verify you have the correct TPS wires connected to the ZEX electronic WOT switch. The signal (variable voltage, 0-5V) wires are Pin B (black wire, sensor ground) and Pin C (dark blue wire, signal). Sounds like you might have it wired to the 5V reference source (Pin A, gray wire).

I set it to the blue wire. I tested it with a voltage tester and it changed when I accelerated
