why do the dry lt1 kits not spray through the maf

im sure this has been asked before but didnt find anything through the search.

basiclly why dont the dry nitrous kits spray though the maf like the ls1s do?
is it something in the computer that wont let it compistate for it? or is it the maf itself?

I've always heard that the LT1 PCM cannot compute as fast as an LS1 PCM can.

cpt is right. The pcm in the LT1's are too slow so to make changes for the nitrous spraying the maf so you'd never get the right a/f .

I had no freaking clue they didn't spray through the MAF...How the hell does the extra fuel get added then?

I thought NX made a maf kit? Oh well maybe it was for an LS1.

NX does make a MAF kit for the LT1.

Ok,
NX does make a maff kit for the LT1.However this is a wet system..

A LT1 Dry system works by placing a nozzle before the throttle body. The system has a fmu.(fuel management unit). This works by spikeing the pressure to the fuel regulater and adding the extra fuel through the injectors.

The ford 5.0 system works the same way. There are some companys suggesting spraying into the maff like on a LS1. I advise against doing this. If you want a good dry system NOS or ZEX is the way to go.

So whats your take on the NX MAF kit? Doesnt it spray out the half of the MAF that is actually after the electronics?

I was actually looking at the kit today, as I like the packaging of the kit better than the Nossel Kit. Or do you think the nossel kit is the way to go?

What I am doing is I have a Heads and cam LT1 and am looking to spray it too. (all the supporting mods, long tubes, 52mmTB and a 12 bolt)

the NX maf kit just changes out the MAF housing and incorporates the wet nozzles in the back half of the MAF housing. The fuel and nitrous exit the built in nozzle after any MAF wires and it then travels towards the TB.

Very slick setup.

I am running the MAF kit on my 396 LT1, and love the looks of it.
I never liked the looks of the nozzle.
