White smoke, smells like coolant, rattling: anyone wanna take a stab?

Well, tonight i took my friend in the TA for a spirited n20 run cuz he'd never been in a juiced car. I was running 125hp dry shot and sprayed three times in 2nd and twice in third. At the end of last run in third as i let off of n20 and the gas, we hear a rattling sound...kinda like something was brushing up against a fan or something....car is running fine....no loud bangs, bumps, or grinds.

But about one minute later as i'm driving to a nearby parking lot to see what happend, i notice the white smoke that's coming out of my tailpipes. I get out, and the fast rattle is reduced to a steady knocking (but not really knocking) soundsm rhythmic with the idle. When i move the accelerator and give some gas, the rattling increases. The smoke smells like coolant, oil is fine - no burnt oil smell, no milky oil in the dip or from the breather.

I decide to limp her to a nearby apartment parking lot (i used to leave there so it'll be fine for tonight...there was NO WAY i was limping her 25 south to home) and you should have seen the SPYHUNTER smoke screen my car put up! I mean, the smoke was bellowing out of the back of my car.
the rattling continues and there seems to be a slight to moderate surge in power while driving, that in 2nd to higher gears seems to smooth out.

Anyone wanna take a stab at it?

Sounds like you at least have a blown head gasket. You need to check the plugs to see if you detonated a cylinder as well. Coolant in the cylinder may have caused damage to rod/piston assembly...thats my guess for noise source.

You blew a headgasket. Or maybe 2. Sounds like you also might have gotten some water in a cylinder and did some bottom end damage. Just because there is no water in the oil does not mean you did not blow a headgasket. It sounds like the coolant is blowing into your exhaust.

The motor needs to come out when this happens. At a minimum, you could drop the pan and check the bearings. But if it were me, I figure it's time to freshen it up, at the least.

head gasket. I blew 2 this past year. I changed them in my front yard both times. First time water in my oil. drove it home from the track like that. 2nd time just had exaust going into my water jacket. coolent was coming out of my overflow bad. I would pull the heads. Check the plugs. And go from there. The bottom end might be fine. When you have the heads off turn teh motor over and check the culinders for damage and to make sure the pistons are tight. and that they come all the way up. drain the oil and inspect it for any metal or anything. You can pull the pan if you want also. good luck.

Head gasket for sure. The ticking could be more severe damage like a broken rod or bad main bearing. Be sure to have your heads checked for warpage or you will put it back together and blow it again. You can help prevent this by not hitting the juice below 3000 RPMs. Your dry system probably siezed an injecter.
