where to run the nitrous line?
where to run the nitrous line?
Hey guys,
Where should I run the nitrous line if I decide to put the nitrous bottle in the spare tire compartment. Should I run it on the outside, or inside?
I'm probably going to take appart the interior anyway and run a couple of lines for the remote bottle opener and bottle blanket.
Car is a 95 trans am.
Thanks guys,
Igor.

Re: where to run the nitrous line?
for safety reasons the instructions usually say run the lines outside the car,
but.... u can run the lines inside the car down the passenger side and then have the line come out the grommet right behind the computer
good luck

Re: where to run the nitrous line?
I ran the bottle on the outside, it kind of defeats the purpose of having a blowdown tube on the bottle if I am going to still route a line inside the interior. I ran my bottle in the spare tire well and I routed the line along the fuel/brake lines from the back to the front of the car. Some people also route in alongside the passenger area but my subframe connectors were getting in the way of how I wanted to route the line.
Re: where to run the nitrous line?
When you mounted the bottle in the spare tire compartment, any issues with getting it tipped so its still in the right angle?
You know, how their prettymuch falt, with the valve end being raised slightly to work as a antisyphon.

I feel that by running the line through the interior cabin runs some slight risk of a possible leakage. Call me paranoid, but to each their own. It took me the same amount of effort, if not less, to route the line on the outside of the vehicle as it would through the interior cabin.

I'm not arguing that your method is bad, I know several people that did it.. for me personally, I just didn't want a line inside my car in the event of a wreck and the line becomes damaged, but the other reason is I want to keep that "free space" in the PCM grommet hole available because down the line I plan on adding some interior gauges and maybe a couple of other things.

Re: where to run the nitrous line?
I have seen people do both. Neither have complained or had problems. Which ever is easier for you but just make sure you have enough room where ever you decide to run. Make sure to clear away from moving parts obviously
