Question What RPM does your window switch turn on and off the nitrous?

Do you activate at 3000rpm and shut down at 6000rpm,
do any of you who have a stock cam and heads have the window switch set to turn off at an rpm of 6000rpm's or higher and actually shift that high. In other words, do you shift at 6000rpm's or higher with the window switch set just as high?

I would not go above 6k rpm with the stock internals. If you have a stock cam, you won't make power that high anyways. Nitrous broadens out the powerband enough that you don't need to rev the motor out high. Just play it safe. I shift at 5800 rpms, stock cam.

My window switch is set to 3000/5900 and shiflight comes on @ 5800. I have a stock motor with a 100HP 5177 kit.

On at 3000 off at 6000 ....shift light at 6000. I would set the upper limit at 5800 and shift at 5800 with a stock cam. Just make sure your rev limiter is set at 6000. If your using the stock limiter (5800)back it down to 5600.

Thanks guys, I was worried about going to too high of an rpm with the nitrous on. I have been shifting into fifth in the 1/4 because I run out of rpm's in fourth near the end. But I would rather make the extra shift then damage the motor by running the rpm's too high in fourth obviously. Thanks again.

How close are you to the trap when you have to shift? If your close I wouldnt hesitate to push the rpm to 6000-6100 in 4th to get thru the trap without shifting to 5th. You can still shut the nitrous down at 5800 or 6000. Just set your rev limiter at 6200. Try to avoid that extra shift if at all possible.

On at 3,800, off at 5,900.

Thanks for bringing up a good option.

Most folks chose not to spray through the shift. If you've got a WOT switch, and you let up as you shift, then it won't matter where your window switch is set, as long as it's lower than the PCM rev limit. But if you powershift, I'd have the window switch cut off before you shift.

forgot to mention that it's an auto so I don't let off when shifting.

Personally, I'd have the nitrous shut off during the shift. You're putting a whole lot of power into that poor torque converter, and it's not like it needs it while its trying to shift.

ok, so if it's set to shift at 6k then should I set the rpm switch to 6k exactly? Thanks for the info so far.

I'd shut it off at 5900, better safe than sorry. But I don't have an automatic tranny, so I'm not exactly the expert at this.
