If you mean motor safety, the big thing is a window switch.
The window switch serves two safety related purposes. It prevents the nitrous from coming on too low, which can break parts due to extremely high cylinder pressures. At the high end, the window switch should be set below the rev limiter, as hitting the limiter with the nitrous on can cause detonation or a huge exhaust backfire. The WS also allow you to chose where you want the nitrous to come on to maximize performance. For example, my 60' times are 0.2 seconds less with the nitrous activated at 3,200 v 3,600rpm. Also, if you run an automatic, unless it's beefed up, spraying through the shifts is probably not a good idea. Many here report doing it with no problems though.

I use a fuel pressure safety switch, which is also a good idea. For my setup though (SC + N2O) the motor is toast if it suddenly lost FP anyway, so the FPSS is probably irrelevant.

The window switch (which a "kit" will come with anyway) activates the nitrous at WOT. Some consider it a safety item, but to my mind it is not. It wouldn't hurt the motor to see nitrous at part throttle, though why you would want it is another question.

Rich meant "The WOT switch...." here, of course.
