Question What Compression Ratio For N2O?

Hey. I am just wondering if I were to build my LT1 for N2O, what would be a reasonable compression ratio to have it set up for running 150 shots?

Thanks..

Re: What Compression Ratio For N2O?

i wouldnt build a dedicated nitrous engine for only a 150 hit, build it for good n/a performance then spray it. 11:1 is fine and still allows pump gas with no issues, just build it with good forged parts.

I ran my stock LT1 with a 150-175 shot and had no problems, and it was a safe tune,i was in the process of leaning it out on the nitrous when my trans imploded.

I agree with the previous post. However, you probably should select a cam with nitrous in mind - relatively long exhaust duration with a fairly narrow LSA. Basically, a good NA cam with some extra exhaust duration. Chose the static CR to go with the cam, aiming for a dynamic CR of ~8:1.
