what causes

poping throught the rpm band on n20...

i have hsw lt1 wet kit 100 shot, bottle pressure about 900(jets rated at 1050)
ive pulled 4 5.5 and 6 degrees it seems to get a lil better each time i decrease timing and the car slows down but i think thats not the problem...ive read the plugs and they look like they are a little rich, my tr6 are gapped to .33
is it most likely that im blowing out the spark?

Re: what causes

I think the kits are jetted to be rich with fuel. Try a smaller fuel jet to get less fuel and lean it up a little. Im sure Matt from harris will give you his advice on this too. But thats what I would try

Re: what causes

Jetting was revised a while back for RWHP, so if your jets are stainless steel run the jetting that is included with the card, and it's based off of a 950 psi bottle pressure. Didn't you have an issue before with a fuel injector not being pluged back in or something along those lines? Has that been cleared up?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: what causes

I would suggest trying a new set of spark plugs and gapping them tight.

Re: what causes

alright...ill try to do that this week and test them out...the other night i went out when it was dark and saw a slight arcing comming from plug number 2....possibly from 4 also.. seemed to be comming from the base of the plug to the head????????

.so they might not be getting a great spark, what would cause it?

Re: what causes

I would say either your wires are not on all the way or the porcelain on the plug is cracked, but you should not be seeing any arcing.

Re: what causes

stock fuel pump?

i was going through the same issues a while back. popping/backfiring/surging on nitrous. then as time went by it started to do it on motor!!
first i replaced the fuel pump, that fixed some of the backfiring/popping. then i did the opti and that fixed the surging.
