I know most spray 100-150 but what about 175. Can I get away with it with just an inline fuel pump added. The motor does have 4 bolt mains but I believe it has hypercraptic pistons. the crank and rods are stock.
i ran a 175 with a 255lph intank pump. im not a big fan of inline pumps with the stocker in the tank mainly due to the inline has to pull through the smaller stocker.
If your tuneup is dead on,175 wont be a problem, but dont run it on pumpgas and make sure you run cold plugs.
i was going to try a 200 shot, but the trans had different ideas and the output shaft broke.

I've ran the 175 shot also without issues. Just make sure you have a good tune and proper fuel.
P.S. I don't like ju-ju beans or jawbreakers.
i spray a 150 wet shot all day long and the motor really feels like it wants more, the 150 shot doesnt even phase it, and im doing this with autolite 104's and no inline pump and no saftey equipment
you should be fine with a 150 shot, 175 then i would go 2 ranges colder on the plugs and mix a few gallons of race gas in the tank

no offense, but no safty eq, that doesnt really say too much about you. and how do you know the motor feels like it want more. ive seen 3 or 4 lt1s pop with a 150. you are just sitting on a bomb, and when it happens, think of this thread.
(at least get safty stuff!)

i dont need saftey stuff, i control the button with my finger so the saftey is on me not some micro switch that can get stuck or a missed shift at wot, why rely on on saftey euip that could still possibly fail, i trust my finger...
you can have all the safety stuff in the world and still hurt parts with any power adder.
i never run a FPSS(once in the last 10 years i did, annoying pos),cant stand em. i do put in a good fuel pump,so dont feel a need for a fpss. i also dont run a window switch,i spray through shifts, for maximum et gains.
Basically it's confindence in your knowledge and equipment.
when i sprayed the 175,i pulled 3 degree's of timing, and had no detonation,150 i pulled no more then 2 degree's.absolutely no signs of detonation on either setup.
