What cam to use with NOS

I have a 85 z28. It has a 350 crate motor, nothing real special. Stock bottom end. It has headers rpm intake, edel carb, 76cc heads 1.94 intake 1.50 exhaust. i have it backed with a th350 and a 2800 stall. Im looking to do a 75-150 shot. I have an upgraded fuel system. What would be the best cam for this setup? this car will be on the drag strip 90%of the time and street 10%. Gimi some ideas.

thanks

Re: What cam to use with NOS

There are other ways to look at it, but here is a simple way to conceptualize a "nitrous cam", with the idea that you are talking about a small shot, like you mention. A good nitrous cam is basically the same as a good NA cam with some additional exhaust duration. To avoid excessive overlap, the LSA needs to be increased proportional to the added exhaust duration. Choose the intake lobe first according to the desired rpm range and work from there.

If you look at a catalog like Comps, with a wide selection of cams including "nitrous cams" you can see that they have designs the correspond to what I wrote above. For a given rpm range, the intake lobes for NA and nitrous cams will be the same. The nitrous cam will have a longer exhaust duration and a bit wider LSA.

For your setup, an "off the shelf" nitrous grind will do the trick.
