Between the 605s and 104s, which is better? I think one of those is a stock plug and the other is colder but im not sure which.



And second question, the better of the Autolights, better to use then the NGK TR6s??? I ask this becaus, i plan on putting in NGKs tomorrow unless the Autolughts are the same or better becaus they are alot cheaper and in stock. So im going to buy them probabily as a back up set reguardless.

 

#104 are one step colder plug which is good for 50-150 shot. Other use #103 which is two step colder plug for 150 plus shot. I use #104 and find it very good and cheap all around plug.

Well, reason i asked is becaus i shot the car, the car went limp..... We pulled all the plugs, they were FUGGED up BAD. The electrodes were gone, and the plastic was melted. I put in the new plugs (auto light 104s) And it cranked up fine, but still skipping. I did a compression test of one of the cylinders and it was fireing at all. I only tested 3 so far and the other two were alright. We are pulling the heads tomorrow, what could be wrong most likely? I hope nothing in the bottom end is messed up, like a piston.

 

Well what plug did you had in it before that? If you use a platinum plug on the bottle then you just cause detonation in the head.

I had the NGK TR6s, they are a pretty cold plug, not platinum.

 

I used to run the 104's, but went to the 103's with the 175 shot. The car ran great NA and on the dope with both plugs.

 

Does it run fine NA? If so I would not pull the heads. I would check your fuel pressure while spraying making sure it does not drop and lean out. What size shot are you running? what fuel etc. I burnt the tip off one 104's and went to 103's and have never had a problem. Derrick talked me into the 103's and mine runs stronger NA with them too.

If it ran fine n/a i wouldnt have changed all the plugs, and then have taken them all back out to do compression tests, and now be getting ready to pull the heads off.
