Wanting to start filling N20 bottels
Finally got my stuff to fill my own bottles. I freeze the small one and heat the big one for about 10 min with a propane torpedo heater. Works great I can fill a 10 lbs bottle with 13+ lbs. Wish I would have done it sooner. Here is a video of how long it takes to do. Less than 40 sec. That is faster than any pump I have seen.
Did you have to buy the large cylinder? Also all you have is the line and a filter? How do you know how much you have put in your 10 lb bottle? Thanks for the info. I am interested in doing this. How much did you pay for the n2o?

I had to lease it. The 10lbs tank is on a postage scale.(got off ebay) For a 65 lbs tank it cost me $110.00
Just make sure it don't get knocked over. I have a chain I need to put around mine to prevent that from happing. Just make sure your lines are connected good before you open the valve. Don't want one whipping around.
When you transport the bottle back to exchange it you want to have it strapped down good. Other than that just don't over heat the bottle. If you do you will lose all your N20. It has a safety vent on it just like the 10lbs tanks.

I think alot of places don't want to mess with a small account like one tank fills. So they say you need a license to get it.(you do for medical grade) Try telling them you want the none medical grade w/sulfer. I had to try a few diffrent places. My buddy actually got the deal setup. He gets it dropped off at his work.
Thats pretty sweet, the only problem i could see, is when the big bottle starts to get empty, you wouldnt be able to get the rest of it out? One thing you might want to do is get a direct flow on/off valve, the handle style kind so you dont have to twist the ****.
Just heat up the large tank and it will get it all out.
Must vary by state. In NJ, you are required to have a permit to buy or possess any form of nitrous oxide. Saying its for a "race vehicle" is a valid reason to get a permit.
Putting 13# in a 10# bottle isn't really a good idea. It eliminates all the vapor space. Since the liquid is not compressible like the vapor, you increase the chances that the blowoff valve will rupture as the tank heats up.

As with 10 lbs in the tank. I wouldn't put 13lbs and let it set in a car with the windows rolled up in 90* temps. I will put 13 lbs in my tank when I plan on going to the track.
But I am saving 50% on my fill ups so it has been worth the investment. But at the same time I am using 3 times as much having it at my house
