Want to forge a 355...200 shot?

What internals would work best on a 355 or a 383 if I were to get a new crank, connecting rods, dished pistons, and a much lower compression?

I have been told of the Eagle 383 blower setup 5.70" H-Beam rods, 3.75" Forged crank, 4.030" Bore SRP -31cc dish pistons and it makes 9.0:1 compression w/ 58cc heads.
1750$ though is kinda steep, I thought you could go cheaper?

What is wrong w/ the scat9000 230$ crank? would that be good for a nitrous app? any advice is appreciated,
thanks

No point in lowering the compression, not as big a deal in nitrous setups, it will just cost you HP all around.

I would go with a set of SRP pistons ($430 off ebay), a set of Eagle H Beam rods ($320 off ebay) and a 5140 forged crankshaft ($400 off ebay).

You could probably get away with the Scat 9000 crankshaft. I have a friend spraying 175 horsepower with TRW pistons, stock rods with good bolts and a cast crank.

hey im kinda in the same boat....i wanna do a 355 street sleeper with a 200 shot..what kinda compression should i be lookin for? and would a forged bottom end hold everything? It would mostly be a 175 shot unless i go to the track..but i wanna make sure with 175 i wouldnt have to worry about **** breaking..or being careful on using it..i used a 125 shot on my stock LT1..went through about 9 bottles in 2 months never a problem

Re: Want to forge a 355...200 shot?

The compression could be anywhere between 10-1 to 13.5-1. Depending on how you build the motor.
The bottom end, I would get all forged internals. When your building the motor there isn't any point to save a few hundred bucks to have a weak point in your engine. You mentioned a 355, a 383 isn't too much more. Just the machining for the bigger crank. Then you would have plenty of room to grow too. You would also have to upgrade other parts of the car. You can't expect a car that was designed to handle 275hp hold 400+.

my car is definitly not stock any more... how much machine work is needed for the 383?

check sig for mods, I would need fuel and a rear end... but just want a 200 shot

Why stop at 200? if im spending money on the engine it damn well better handle 250+

I just bumped it up too 13.7:1 on the little 355 on stock heads that could
C-16 and 22 degrees of timing baby.
