stock, cc306 cammed LT1.
New to nitrous, but I want more power.
I got a rebuilt LT1 (maybe 3,500 miles) it has a cc306 cam in it with stock heads, stock TB, 30 Lb. injectors.
Can someone point me in the direction of a nitrous kit that wont blow my engine.
If not whats the safest way to spray without forged internals.

..........IMO, I would Go with a "wet" style nitrous kit(I've run both, and like most people MUCH prefer the wet systems for their easier and more precise tuning).........Make sure to have a properly working fuel pump, "confirmed" with a fuel pressure gauge that you can observe during some quarter mile passes so that you know for 100% sure that you have adaquate fuel while the car is under load.......Make sure to have a FPSS (Fuel pressure safety switch) hooked up so that your nitrous solenoid will "NOT" operate if the cars fuel pressure ever drops below your preset minimum "safe" pressure setting.......also going with 1-2 steps colder plugs is good insurance against damaging detonation(the autolite 103's are a good choice for anything up to around a 150 RWHP shot and can be found at pretty much any auto parts store)......also make sure your plug wires are in good shape as well....that stuff is the real important stuff.......other items that are REAL good ideas if you have some extra cash and want things as safe as possible, is a good aftermarket ignition box like a MSD digital 6 box (or Mallory 685).......this way you'll have a nice hot reliable spark, a window switch(with the mallory unit) and VERY importantly, a rev-limiter that drops spark for it's rev-limiting action , and NOT "fuel" like the factory rev-limiter does.....it's also a "real" good idea to have the factory PCM's rev-limiter raised WAY up out of the way so that it will never be in the picture on a nitrous car(7200 is where mine is).............the key to running nitrous safely is to just make certain that the nitrous to fuel ratio NEVER EVER goes lean on fuel.......and you don't get too greedy with the shot you run......a 125 RWHP shot is about the most I would go if you really care about the longevity of the engine...........good luck with it..........PS: it's also a good idea to list your year car in your sig so it's easier to give acurate recomendations for certain things ..........Joe

and what makes you say this....
I have a MSD Dig6 and the original stock Opti....the msd has been on the car since 00-01...I have personally put ~40k miles on it and 200+ drag passes.
Can list many more close friends w/LT1's using MSD boxes w/no opti problems caused by the MSD

At what RPM does the nitrous come on? If before your stall rateing of 3600, how much does it raise the flash of the converter? I'm thing of going with a Yank 3600 next year with a 100 shot. I was wondering if the nitrous would help flash the converter a couple of hundred more RPM? Thanks, Rick.
