Spraying NOS

Hey guys,
I am planning on hooking a NOS kit up to my 97 LT1. If I were to only use a 75 shot, would I be ok without any other engine mods? (Like rods and pistons)
Thanks.
Ben

Most likely. Just be sure to not cut corners and keep it safe!

A 75 shot should be okay on stock internals. Be sure to check out the sticky in the nitrous forum for the suggested safety accessories to run along with your nitrous setup.

me personally, if i were you i'd do a wet kit. and get some colder range plugs. dont use any kind of power tuning or anything like that either. if you have a manual, a window switch is helpful too. i used to spray a 150 shot on my car when it was bone stock but went back down cause the fuel pump would drop way down in psi on initial hit. other then that only thing i messed up was transmissions lol. at first i used to mix race/pump gas to be safe but sometimes i just used 93.

thanks guys
I planned on getting a DynoTune wet kit...they've got those on their website for $359...which isn't bad at all
I'm not going to be using it for launch. I just need that extra push above 60mph that my LT1 A4 lacks. At least until I can afford all the other mods I want to do later this year and next spring/summer. (Heads, Cam, Intake Manifold, Headers, Tranny Build, Gears....you guys know the deal). Then ultimately a nice supercharger w/intercooler.

What do you guys think about a Twin Turbo setup Vs. a Supercharger setup?

Also, what do you think about 383 Strokers? I'm more about street performance than heading to the strip. Is it really worth the cost. Because you can get a supercharger for the same price as turning your LT1 into a stroker.

I don't know where your going to get a super charger that cheap, but id do a 383 while its apart, as for the 75 shot, take the safty precautions and it should be fine.

I run a 150 on my stock LT1. Got me a racetronix fuel pump, mallory 685 ignition box, fuel pressure safety switch, colder plugs, and I was ready to go!
