Bottle leak help

I went today to go fill my bottle for the first time at a local speed shop. After we filled it up, I noticed that the bottle was leaking from the threads where the pressure guage screws into. What sealer does everybody use for this area?

I used teflon paste. What kit is it? I have a HSW kit and it leaked out of the gauge, not the actual threads.

Funny thing...I have a HSW kit. I wonder if the HSW guages are not up to par? Every other part in the kit is top notch though.

I have no clue. I bought a NX gauge at the store and the leak went away. My friend said he had to tighten the living crap out of his to keep it from leaking.

If thats your excuxe then go for it. I plan on getting a digital gauge from them also, but I will prob get a nitrous outlet bottle nut which has 2 npt fittings instead of 1 like the HSW kit...

My guage also leaked. I contacted them though and they sent me a new guage and it's a little bit diffrent from the one before. I've yet to refill my tank though.

Sinister95Z - Did you use a thread sealant on the threads? If you didn't that's your problem. You can use the supplied thread locker that comes with the kit for it. Even with thread sealant you'll have to get it tight.

I did use sealer on the threads. I also tightened the guage as tight as I could without breaking anything. It seems I am not the only one with this problem...Honestly I am not too worried about it. I just need to give in and cough up the cash for the digital guage.

I had the same problem, so I bought a NX gauge, it sealed fine, and i sent ine back to HSW. They sent me another one and it did the same thing....I reinstalled the NX gauge and it seals great
