so can i get any old wet system?

i have seen how some people make their own setups and that got me wondering.. if i see a cheap civic or integra setup, can i use it on my car? from what i can tell about wet kits, they are basically the same(minus the smart kits, zex venom etc..)

i am only interested in a 75-100 shot for now and it wouldnt be too bad to be limited on how much i can spray, so if i get brave(stupid) i dont try a 150 shot and pop something...

if so, where are the differences? im gonna feel stupid if its just the jets..

thanks,

josh

I would just get a used f body kit, probably pay about the same amount. The import kis usually have smaller celinoids.

i can live with smaller solenoids.. if i buy a wet system that only supports 100hp shot, i would be happy.. BUT, would there be any problem install the fuel side of a wet system?

i have been looking at doing a dry system for a while, and recently decided to try a wet setup.. i am not clear on how the fuel side hooks up, doesnt it just hook up to the fuel rail?

also, if its rated at 50hp on an import setup, will it still do the same 50hp on a v8?

i am ebaying this setup, and havent seen v8 setups going for anywhere near what the import setups have been going for... (prolly cause they support higher shots)

50hp is 50hp.

as far as hooking the fuel side up,yes the fbody taps into the test port on the rail. most imports kits have a metal "T" that gets cut into the stock rubber line for fuel pickup. also, dont limit yourself to something that "only supports" 100hp,they dont exist, get the best/biggest parts you can for your money.

so- 6 in one hand, half a dozen in another... a wet kit is a wet kit? the whole reason for this thread is that i can get a wet nitrous kit that is pretty new, for an integra, for about 200 dollars.. i'm not interested in buying it and parting it out, but i dont want solenoids that wont work with my car.

bottom line, i can throw a import wet kit on my car, and it will work?

i am only interested in spraying what the stock setup can handle right now.. i am working on getting the killer setup with all(ALL) the safety stuff this fall when i rebuild my matchbox. but 50-75hp for 200 bucks? come on, that is one hell of a deal.

yes it will work, only thing you will have to do is to double check the jet charts. make sure the jet combo with that kit are for the same pressure as your car.

well, bought the kit for 250.. came with bottle half filled, 50hp jets, a pro-comp nitrous pressure gauge, and a purge kit.. (i LOVE ebay)

did some searches on the jets, this is what i found:

61/38 150HP (max for 1 nozzle)

Thats for an NOS kit @ about 42-43psi of fuel pressure.
found that info in this thread...

this is awesome, i thought there was a lot more of a difference from the lt1 and the import kits than some plumbing and the jets..

this should be the best damn bang for the buck i have gotten so far(lets hope its not literal)

hey, thanks for the input thusfar, it has been awesome!

thanks,

josh

EDIT: told the guy to empty the n2o bottle since it was going to be mailed. figured someone might say something about shipping a half full bottle of nitrous.

ah, but of course!

it is an NOS kit.. and have autolite 103's in there already

replaced the coil 1100 miles ago and have a walbro i'm throwing in with my headers/cam/rr's etc.. thinkin i should be able to safely spray 70-80hp with what i have..

i love it when a plan comes together

thanks RacinLT1!
