shift kit

iam buying a shift kit for my brother's 2002 firehawk it is an automatic which one do i need? is the transmission a 700r4???thank you so much. i have also heard bad things about using a shift kit on a stock automatic transmission? his car is making over 400rwhp if this matters. thanks

The tranny in your brothers Firehawk is not a 700R4 but a 4L60E

Trans-go shift kits seem to be the preferred kit around here. I put a B&M kit into my car, but I'm not as happy with it as I hoped I would have been (the shifts don't feel as solid as they did just by using the Hypertech to increase firmness? ).

Since most people recommend the Trans-go for the 4L60E, I'm going to as well!
