purge output considerations...

Given that nitrous is super cold when it leaves the bottle and direct contact with skin can cause instant frostbite from what I understand, should I be concerned about where I place the output side of the purge kit when I get to that point?

Should I worry about quick-cooling a body panel and causing paint issues from the rapid change in temperature?

I'd also like some recommendations for where to place the outputs of the purge (it's a dual outlet purge setup).

I routed my dual purge to vent at the cowl area where my windshield wipers park (purges straight up in the air). It doesn't vent on any body panels and it would be obvious if somebody's body part was in the way of the purge to give them frost bite!

I'm sorry, perhaps I should have been clearer...

I don't plan to purge when anyone is near the outlets, my biggest concern is damage to body panels from any possible rapid cooling that might happen if the purge outlet is close to a body panel.

Does that make it any clearer?

I wouldn't purge onto any painted surfaces, or glass, etc. As OBE1 says, the cowl area straight up is a common place.

Any chance you've got a picture of where you're purging from?

when you purge can you see it? at the strip i see mustangs purging and it is clearly visible like 4 to 5 feet in the air like a white cloud. if you purge and you dont see it what is the problem.or are you suppose to see it at all.

If you dont see anything then you probably still have air in the line. That's what a purge is for to get the air out of the line and have a straight flow of N2O. You are supposed to see a little cloud at least.

ok,i guess there is nothing left in my bottle then.the kit i bought had some nitrous in it and i have it all hooked up and checked it for leaks and i also tested the purge and i hear air but i see nothing . at first a 4 inch white thingie, kinda like a blow torch flame.the bottle pressure is only at 500 so its proably about out, plus the bottle sat for along time before i bought it.

My purge is just to the right of center on the cowl. It shoots a nice cloud straight up and to the right over the windshield. when you first open your bottle you will purge a second of two of clear air before the N20 comes out.

Open the valve on the bottle while its unhooked and clear it out. Then go get it filled.
