300 woohoo

WOW 300 is a lot for a small block dont care whats done to it
Not at all sayin it cant be done Just would creep up on it
I would start with some really good fuel say 114 -116 race fuel no airport ****. And some really cold plugs NGK 9 if not a 10
Spark plugs are a hell of a lot cheaper than pistons

Good Luck let us know how it goes.

I'm not 100% sure if this is the route i am going to go, but if so the car wouldn't see lower than 110 fuel. I might wait until next winter to do the engine rebuild and finish setting up the chassis/rear end this winter.

A rule of thumb I often hear is not to exceed 50% of the engine output before nitrous. For example, if an engine makes 400 horsepower, then a 200 shot is a reasonable amount of nitrous to run on it all other variables (bottom end, fuel delivery, etc) are all up to par.

you could put something small in and still have it sound stock. Plus you want to rev the motor past 5500rpms right

I just contacte CM to see about a custom nitrous cam that would be next to impossible to hear. We will see what they have to say.

300 is no problem on a strong motor. I have a factory stock L98 that has never had the valve covers off and use 200 plus on it. With the 200 shot I get mid 11s with the stock motor.

uhmm.. dont forget about ring gap. I was told that for a 250-300 shot you need about .030 gap on the top ring. I've got .025 and dont plan to go over a 200 shot.

not being a dik but i just don't really like telling anyone. people that i know read this board and then word will get out what's under the hood and that ='s me getting no race's

either way, let's just say this, my ****'s built to do it

when i was running a stock bottom end though, i made sure to have my NGK TR6 plugs gapped at like 0.35, run straight 100 unleaded gas, and i ran about 6* of timing retard...

just play it safe guy's, do what i said above and you can DEFINATELY spray AT LEAST a 200shot on a stock bottom end... DO NOT do it like ALL THE TIME, but you could get away with doing it like 2 or so passes down the track to get a cool timeslip

also what i like to do is CHANGE MY OIL before i go to the track when i knew i was going to be spraying big on a stock bottom end... I still do it now cause it's better to be safe than sorry

what about autolite 104's?? i heard they are okay for small shots....i'm running 104s gapped at 0.30, 75 shots, with no timing retard. i thought 150 shot is ok without timing retard

please share your knowledge

yea you could get away with no timing retard but dude make sure you run like straight race gas, like some 100 unleaded... the autolites are OK butnn personally i like the NGK's.. although i HAVE used both...
