Popular 355 Buildup choices??
Hey,
I am looking to build a 355 this winter, and plan to spray a consistent 150-175 shot on it at the track. I will also be running a cc306 and good flowing lt1 ported heads. My main question is how much do i need to spend on the bottom end? Do I need a forged crank and rods? I am planning on forged pistons at a minimum, but was looking for suggestions on somewhat of a budget for a crank and rods. Thanks
Brandon

With a max of a 150-175 shot you should be ok with a stock crank. Just don't rev the engine sky high. Limit max rpm's to 6,500 and you should be ok. I would get some forged rods and pistons though. You can get the Scat forged I-beams pretty cheap. And the forged TRW pistons are kinda heavy, but work fine and are reasonably priced. I've been running a 150-175 shot of NX on my stock shortblock for the past 3 years. 75k and still running great. JMO. Good luck on the buildup.
