Please Design a Safe System For Me

I'm thinking of going with the gas before I invest in the LE2 heads, due to cost.

I need expert help to design a SAFE system for my '97 LT1 that is bone stock other than a CAI.

Here are my issues and desires:

-- 125 shot (or whatever the stock engine will safely handle)
-- window switch (incedentally, what is the suggested window? Since I have tons of low end torque to begin with, I'm thinking 4000-6000RPM)
-- auto bottle opener
-- good location for bottle that won't take up valuable space. I was thinking of the cavity under the battery...is there enough room for this? I was even thinking of relocating the battery to the trunk cavity (for easier wiring of sound system amps) allowing the bottle to be placed there.
-- bypass switch so I will only have it run when I want during races
-- Will I need the get the MSD 6AL so I can regulate the spark better as well as utilizing its spark-limiting rev limiter set at 6000 RPM?
-- bottle warmer or heater (maybe being in the engine bay may be hot enough?
-- Been thinking if I should go Wet or Dry. If I go Dry, I will be getting the Ford SVO 30lb injectors (or should I get the 36lbers to plan for the LE2 heads a couple years later?
-- Since this will push me past 400HP, should I increase the TB to 58mm as well as grinding out the intake opening to 58mm?
-- Been thinking of getting LT1-Edit or another good PCM tuner.
-- Plan for the future...I do plan on integrating this with the LE2 setup

I want a "perfectly" designed system with safety and effectiveness combined. What price will all this add up to? Consider cost for WET & DRY

Which system (wet or dry) is the safer and lease prone to malfunctions?

Finally, if you can plan out the parts and the source for me, that would be great too!

Thanks..

Look into doing the intake fuel pump if your planning on heads/cam later on. Also look into the stage one NX kit witht he Genx2 package added on. That will give you bottle warmer and fuel safety switch. The only other thing you'd need from your list is remote bottle opener (not nesscity) and possibly an MSD box. Also you will want to give your car a good tuneup and run colder plugs to be on the safe side. Any questions feel free to contact us we'll be glad to help you out.

Re: Please Design a Safe System For Me

if you want the safest possible setup..

2 N2O noids(inline), fpss, oil pressure safety switch, window switch (rpm range depends on your car, personally i cut it off 3-400rpm before redline.)

NGK TR6 plugs

fuel pump is a must IMO.

i would say pull a couple degrees of timing, i believe msd makes a specific timing control box for like 50 bucks.

i would not put a bottle in the engine bay...i currently have both of mine in the trunk compartment..easily concealed, no need to buy a remote opener IMO.

as for the bottle heater, i dont use one. i use a nitrogen push system, desired pressure, and its there the entire run, every run.

I'm pretty sure pusher systems aren't legal at the dragstip anymore.

Re: Please Design a Safe System For Me

So if I leave the bottle opened I guess there shouldn't be any leakage over time...even if I don't use it for a couple weeks? I guess I could open the trunk and manually open the valve...

I was planning on getting the MSD 6AL, can I manually pull (retard?) the timing for the N20 system on it?

What size fuel pump do you recommend? Remember that I plan on the LE2 package in about 2 years or sooner as I get the money.

Open the bottle when you plan to use it and close it soon afterwards or you will ventilate your hood with your intake manifold.

Re: Please Design a Safe System For Me

i would go with a 255 walbro, and rewire kit for the fuel pump. and open the bottle when you are gunna use it, dont leave it open 24/7 also, i would take the bottle out of the car when not in use...i have had some hot days down here and left the bottle in the car and when i went to open it it pegged the gauge, and i couldnt purge the pressure off. supposedly nx noids have a 1250psi lockout .

worst case scenario, you put the bottle behind the passenger seat that way you can still route the blowdown tube outside of the cabin, and you have easy manual access. i did it this way and covered it with a duffel bag.
